History

2015

30th  Anniversary of Uteco Group (1985-2015)! The investments are continuing and are aimed to more fields  of the Company such as: human resources, trained according to the most modern operational methods based on 6Sigma and Lean Producttion, whose target is the World Class Manufacturing; R&D Projects also in co-operation with foreign and Italian universities and institutions; innovative projects such as the printed electronic applied to the Smart-Active Packaging; a new “numerical control” job centre for the achievement of the total quality control of the main mechanical components of the machines.

Two new lines of  machines have been introduced: the compact flexo press Onyx XS and the innovative rotogravure Next 450. Uteco dynamism and expertise keep on surprising the markets!

2014

Expansion of the Colognola ai Colli (Verona) Headquarters, with the construction of the third building named “Uteco 3” close to the main plant, where offices and part of the production are located, as well as the presentation  of the new R&S  ConverDrome®, situated at Uteco 2 plant. Uteco investments continue, in parallel with its presence on the world markets.

2013

Uteco launches on the market the DIAMOND VHP press, suitable for large repeat. Great success at Converflex Exhibition and at EAFA/FPE Summer Conference in Palerm (Sicily) where Uteco is the main sponsor. Uteco is also in the forefront, sponsoring also some events of Calzedonia Volley team.

2012

At Drupa 2012 Uteco introduces the new CI press named Crystal, dynamic and compact flexo press, equipped with automated patented control devices  (Touch&Go® and Kiss&Go), entirely designed by Uteco engineering team.

2011

EB project, which Uteco has worked for some years, has been optimised by the introduction of the Thermilox® patent in order to ensure an accurate and continuous ink control during the printing. This system can be applied even to UV presses. 

2010

Thanks to a Business Unit entirely dedicated to the Special Machinery design, Uteco introduces on the market the first roto-offset machine, Silver SIL, developed for the Security market.

2009

Cooperation agreement between Uteco Group and the Indian manufacturer of rotogravure machines Kohli Industries, for the production in partnership of the first two lines of rotogravure presses named V-Press 300 and E-Press  based on Uteco ELS technology.

2008

The design and development of the special machines continues, mainly the coating and laminating machines, with the installation of two lines, one for the self-adhesive coating film and one for the self-adhesive silicone paper production.

Uteco introduces the first EB Electron Beam application on a flexographic press.

2007

The flexographic press DIAMOND HP 808 is shown at Drupa  2008 fair. An important international Group purchases this kind of press for its plant in Germany.

Uteco is increasing his presence on the German market.

2006

Supplied to a southern Italian Converter the new high speed rotogravure machine (designed for 500 mt/min. speed), H-PRESS type.

2005

In South Germany a 9 color rotogravure machine  type Q-PRESS is installed, with engraved sleeves and automatic washing system.

2004

At Drupa 2004 fair is officially shown the new generation of gearless presses, the ONYX model.

2000

A large “extrusion coating” equipment provided with two rotogravure units for the pharmaceutical application and liquid packaging is supplied to an important Italian Customer. The first gearless printing press, Direct-drive type, named Emerald 10C-CI is supplied to a major Canadian Customer. 

1997

An 8 color rotogravure machine equipped with “chucking system” device is sold to a USA Customer. This kind of machines allows the use of shaftless engraved cylinders. The first flexographic press 8C-CI equipped entirely with quick change system for plate sleeves and anilox, type Emerald 825, is supplied to a major German Customer.

1996

A special coating/laminating machine is supplied to a large South American  Converter. A special rotogravure machine with patented technical innovations is supplied to a large German Group.

1992

The first flexographic press of the new Amber range is introduced and becomes one of the most successful presses of Uteco’s production field. Several Jade 810 presses designed for 500 mt/min print on cardboard are supplied to a major international Group for their facility on Northern Europe.

1985

Uteco  supplies  the first 4 color flexographic press in line to a welding machine to an important Italian Customer.
