Open House Mistral MV, Rainbow 4.0 e Gaia, 25-26 October 2017

06.11.2017

An eventful October for Uteco Group. After the success of the partecipation at Labelexpo and the joint rotogravure Open House held at the Uteco headquarter in Colognola ai Colli at the end of September, where the new rotogravure NXS300 was introduced to the market, Uteco opened its doors again to present its customers the new projects.

On the 25th and 26th October Uteco Group presented:

-          The newest and unique MISTRAL MV, designed to optimize the in-line matt process with laminating

-          The new Rainbow 4.0, solventless laminating machine able to fit up to 500 m/min

-          Gaia, the new digital printing machine from Labelexpo

A unique opportunity to see the quality of Uteco range, starting from laminating and new projects, including the digital world.

Specifically, during the two days, customers attended the demo print of MISTRAL MV and GAIA.

MISTRAL  MV, optimised  to print matt varnish in register and solventless lamination, with the integration of two processes in a single machine, used a lacquer for mat on the opposite side of the preprinted,  PET 12 micron, and laminated in solventless transparent PE on the printing side, at a speed of 400 m/min.

Customers have been able to touch the demo samples manually, remaining very satisfied with the results, both for the quality of the register and the surface effect produced by the paint.

MISTRAL MV guarantees a significant impact on efficiency and cost savings with a very fast pay-back time. Using a flexo varnish, it is possible to obtain high gloss, satin effect and opaque effect on different substrates and thicknesses.

The same satisfaction came from the samples produced by Gaia print tests, (Gaia was made in collaboration with Ebeam Technologies and INX Digital, both present at the Open House).

The machine printed on a variety of materials: LDPE, BOPP, PET and COATED PAPER at a maximum speed of 25 m/min and with a maximum resolution of 360x360 dpi @ 8 gray scale levels.

Gaia is an adaptable, flexible and easy to use digital inkjet printer, ideal for short runs and the use of variable data. Gaia guarantees a minimum environmental impact, total absence of photoinitiators and odour and a full polymerization. For these reasons, the machine has already gained considerable success during its preview presentation at Labelexpo fair in Brussels, bringing Ebeam Technologies to win the prestigious Label Industry Award Global Awards for Sustainability 2017 for the proposed technology solutions, the same ones that have been integrated in the Uteco digital machine, that is, the EB polymerization unit. Plus, the machine is very compact and occupies only a space of 4.4 m x 1.5 m.

During the tour, it was possible to see the new Rainbow 4.0, perfect for short and long runs in solvent-less lamination that, thanks to the web tension control systems, allows the use of all materials in the food packaging, laminating with a speed of up to 500 m / min.
